Taking a Break

"Taking A Break" is a 15 x 22 watercolor painting. I took a photo of these two ladies about 14 years ago while vacationing in Cancun. I did not have the skill to paint it until recently, especially after taking a workshop by Ratrinda Das. You can visit his paintings here www.ratrindadas.net. Some of the things I learned in his workshop were simplifying a photo and the use of color. I have changed some colors on my palette, taking some of Ratrinda's favorites. I like the colors in this painting and the whites that were saved. I think it gives it a glow.
