I painted this 13 x 15 watercolor of my artist friend, Veronica, using the modern split primary plus burnt sienna from Nita Leland's newest book, "Confident Color". I like it enough to give another painting a try using these seven colors. I think the colors stayed clear with no mud.

Very nicely done, Marilyn, and I'm especially envious of how well you did that lamp and the reflections on the glass from the blinds! Perfect! The colors are good, clean colors, too.
I like the way that you've captured the two different light sources and the small details. Your other paintings of the geraniums and the coconut picker are also very well done. Keep up the good work.
Oh, and thanks for the links to other watercolour painters. As one myself, I am always keen on seeing how others use the medium.
As soon as I opened your blog I recognized our friend Veronica. You continue to amaze me with your tenacity to master your watercolors, Marilyn. Also, I love the intimacy and feeling of the subject and composition.
See you Wednesday - I need help!
Thanks Rhonda. I always feel validated by your comments.
Hi Michael
I enjoyed visiting your blog. I too like to visit other artists. I need to take more time to check out some of your works .

Thanks. I always appreciate you support and encouragement.
My friend Veronica passed away in Sept. She had surgery to replace 2 heart valves and experienced a severe stroke after surgery and never recovered. I will miss her so much. I gave this painting to her husband.
