I have been painting watercolors since 1989. I enjoy painting a variety of subjects. I paint by drawing from life or my reference photos that I have taken. I paint in a realistic style. I strive to have the viewer see what I see and feel what I feel. I have been doing commissions on request.Recently, I have had several commissions of historical buildings and homes.I am inspired by light and color. Something that speaks. I use a limited amount of drawing and will let the painting evolve as the paint and water mingle on the paper. My favorite subjects were flowers for many years, now I find wildlife, birds, and paintings that have action more challenging.
I am currently a member of Wisconsin Watercolor Society and the Whitewater Arts Alliance. I have been in National, State, and local juried art shows. I have received several awards. I am a past member of Blackhawk Artists, Milwaukee League of Artists, and the Georgia Watercolor Society.
I paint transparent watercolor using Daniel Smith paints and Arches watercolor paper. Many of my paintings are made into limited edition prints, signed and numbered by the artist.
I hope you enjoy my paintings and check back often as new paintings are added. If you are interested in purchasing any of my work, you can contact me at mfuerst@idcnet.com
WHEN SIMPLE IS GOOD
-
I am always signing up for short courses online - could be printmaking,
sketchbooking, just anything at all, some more involved. Every one brings
me so...
