Daffodils in Vase

"Daffodils in Vase" is 14 x 22. I started this painting the end of December. It was a challenge that I created for myself. I find yellows hard to paint with watercolors, so that was the challenge for me. I am very happy with the results. I haven't painted flowers in quite some time. It is amazing what you forget when you haven't been painting them. The reference photo was posted on Wet Canvas and was taken by Holly Lombardo. Thanks Holly. You can visit her blog

The lace table cloth was an after thought, It was not in my original photo, so I set up the still life again, minus the flowers. I made this decision after looking at the painting for several days. I think it worked out.

This is finished and in the pile to get framed.

Marilyn,

Wt a great idea to add that lace tablecloth! And, you executed it so well. I like everything about this, the shadow on the table, the glass, and those daffs are just right on. This is so different from your landscapes, but not so different in your handling of detail as you did with the working man painting...you get everything that needs to be represented in your paintings.

I can't remember what size this is, if you said, but it must be wonderful to see in person.
